Diamond Shapes

This shape accounts for over 75% of all diamonds sold today. Round is the most popular shape used for engagement rings. It's 58 facet-cut achieves the maximum brilliance a diamond can have, maximising the reflection and refraction of light.

This is one of the most popular fancy-shaped diamonds and is popular for engagement rings. The princess cut is essentially a square version of the round brilliant cut, known technically as a square modified brilliant cut.

An emerald cut diamond can be extremely stunning. It may not have the sparkle of a round brilliant cut, but because of its long lines it tends to produce more dramatic flashes of light.

This shape is a cross between a princess and an emerald cut. It combines the best features of the round brilliant cut, the elegance and trimmed corners of an emerald cut and a squarer shape more similar to the princess cut.

This shape is a variation of the round brilliant cut - elongated with pointed ends. This shape can maximise carat-weight, making the diamond appear much larger, and tends to make your fingers appear long and slender.

Pear shaped diamonds are often called 'teardrop' diamonds. This shape is a combination of the round brilliant and the marquise, a fiery cut with elegant lines and lots of sparkle.

The asscher cut is often referred to as the 'square emerald cut' - because it is square with wide step facets and cropped corners. This cut is designed to draw your eye into the stone.

Baguette cut diamonds are oblong/rectangular, and are similar to emerald cuts but without the cut corners

Certifications / Valuations

You will receive a diamond certificate with any item that has at least one diamond weighing 0.25ct or more (G colour or above), or at least 0.30ct (H & I colour). This is standard practice throughout the industry, in fact, many companies only provide certificates for stones weighing 0.30ct/0.33ct or more. You can see whether your item is certified by looking at your chosen product and selecting 'More Info', where you will also see a logo for a Valuation Document which accompanies every item.

If your item is not certified, it will however be accompanied by a valuation document. This document confirms the carat weight, cut, colour and clarity of your chosen diamond/s, as well as a picture and description of the item. Our valuations are carried out by an experienced FGA (Fellow of the Gemmological Association) and GG (Graduate Gemologist) certified diamond grader, so this document not only gives you an accurate valuation (RRP) of your chosen piece, but it is confirmation of the quality of the diamond/s you have purchased from us.

It is vital that if you do decide to return your chosen item, you must follow the instructions detailed in our Returns Policy.

Delivery Information

Generally we state 7-10 working days for all items (there are a few items that will take 3-4 weeks). If we have an item in stock we can sometimes deliver within 24-48 hours. You can see the delivery time for your chosen item when viewing that particular product. If you need your order urgently or for a very specific date, please let us know using the 'Special Requirements/Date Needed By' section that you will see during checkout. We'll do everything we can to have your item ready in time.

We will email you once your item has been dispatched, informing you that it will arrive the next day. We generally email delivery confirmations around 5pm so if you're expecting an item to be dispatched on a particular day, please be sure to check your email after 5pm/6pm.

Our packaging only states 'PD Ltd' on the package, and the contents are not identifiable. We use Royal Mail Special Delivery. This is a guaranteed next-day delivery service, which will arrive between 9am & 1pm the day after we post the item and will require a signature. If you are out, Royal Mail will leave a card and the package can be collected from your local Post Office or a re-delivery arranged with Royal Mail. We will email you the day your item is sent so you know to look out for your delivery the following day. Please note, delivery is free and your item will be fully insured during transit.

If you are outside the UK, but within Europe, we can deliver your item with Royal Mail International Signed For, free of charge. This service takes on average 2-3 working days but this can vary. Please contact us here if you require further information.

If you are outside Europe, we can only deliver via Fedex and there is an extra charge for this service. Please contact us here and provide your full address so we can confirm a price for your particular destination.

Please note: We can only deliver to the cardholder's billing address or alternatively to your business/work place. We cannot deliver to a residential address that does not match your billing address (this is for security reasons).

Our Packaging

The packaging is made to measure your chosen item, with special inserts for earrings and pendants.

Returns Policy

All items are entitled to our 30 day money-back guarantee. You may return an item to us within 30 days from receipt of your item, for a refund or exchange.

When returning an item to us it needs to be in its original, unused, unworn condition accompanied by all certification documents (valuation and diamond report if applicable) and its box or packaging. Items damaged due to client negligence will not be accepted for a refund. Once an item has been received and checked over we will process your refund immediately, however the payment may take a several days to return to your account. Please use this form when sending your order back for a refund/exchange. The form also containts an FAQs section with further information regarding Returns.

We will gladly re-size any item at any time after your purchase, for a small charge to cover costs. Please use this form when sending back your ring for resizing. The form explains how to send your ring back to us, the cost of resizing and other useful information. Generally resizing takes 3-5 working days, however some items can only be made within specific size ranges, and others can be specially made but this will take longer to return to you.

Items that have been received and then sent back to be re-sized, will not be accepted for a refund.

All items must be returned via Royal Mail Special Delivery which ensures there is proof of delivery. Please insure the item for a maximum value, which currently is £2,500. DO NOT write Purely Diamonds on a package when returning it to us. Instead, please write PD Ltd. This will help to prevent the possibility of theft in transit.

If the item you received was a special order for a non-standard ring size (outside of our offered range on each product) you will only be able to return it to us if it is faulty, as it will have been specially made and cannot be resold. Our standard sizes for women are 'H to Q 1/2' or 'H to S 1/2' depending on the product. Our standard sizes DO include half sizes.
