The Benefits Of Five Stone Eternity Rings

When most people think of eternity rings, they picture a solid band, set with diamonds around the entire ring. While these rings are, in fact, beautiful, they can also be rather expensive. Another option is whats referred to as a half eternity ring. In this particular design, the diamonds are only set on the upper portion of the ban, leaving the lower half as simply the continuation of the band in precious metal. Half eternity rings are significantly less expensive than full eternity bands, primarily because they have half as many gemstones set within them. For an even more affordable eternity ring, you should consider the five stone eternity ring, a variation on the half band design.

A five stone eternity ring is, simply enough, an eternity ring set with five diamonds on the upper half of the ring. Unlike a full eternity ring, which is set completely around, or a half eternity ring, which is set on the upper half side, a five stone eternity ring has stones that occupy a portion of the ring that is slightly less than half the band. While cost is one main benefit of going with a five stone eternity ring as opposed to the other designs, there are other factors to consider as well.

The primary reason a lot of women actually prefer a smaller number of diamonds on their eternity rings is comfort. Unless your eternity ring is channel set, which creates a primarily flush surface on the outside of the ring, some full eternity rings can be uncomfortable when worn constantly. Even half eternity rings have a portion of the stone setting that will rest in the spaces where your finger rests up against the two that sit beside it. Additionally, even if the diamonds are all channel set and flush within the ring, the thickness of the stones within the setting may be uncomfortable for some wearers.

With a five stone eternity ring, however, the diamond setting tends to only extend to just above where your fingers meet one another, eliminating the potential of discomfort. The portion of the band that is not set with stones can also be made very thin, with rounded edges, for maximum comfort levels when being worn. This not only makes a five stone eternity ring more affordable, it also increases the ability to wear the ring daily without discomfort.
