Both wedding and engagement rings are circular symbols of union that couples cherish forever.

While they obviously command a great deal of monetary value, more than that, they hold a significant level of sentimental worth – and so losing them needn’t bear thinking about!

But, what about those that have?

We have pulled together a rundown of ten of the most remarkable cases of people losing their cherished matrimonial bands (including one who lost one of our sapphire engagement rings), and more interestingly, how they recovered them. From metal detector hunts involving up to thirty people – to a tale of how one unlucky lady accidentally donated her ring to a homeless guy in Kansas – and managed to get it back!
