Wedding Day Survival Tips

Wedding days can be stressful, so here are our tips for how to survive your special day.

1. Hire a wedding co-ordinator

checklist

Whether you hire a planner to organise the entire day, provide creative ideas, or to just be there for on the day coordination, this is a great way to alleviate wedding day stress.

2. Make sure that you’re prepared

checklist

If you don’t hire a wedding planner it is always a good idea to make sure that you are prepared. Before you even start the planning process you should create a budget to help you know what you can afford, and what you can’t. You should also create a checklist and timeline for the run up to the wedding and the actual wedding day so that you know exactly what it is that needs to be done.

3. Forget the receiving line

checklist

The likelihood is that you will spend most of your wedding day talking to all of your guests anyway so to save time and stress why not skip the receiving line? This ensures that your timings will stay as scheduled and you will not have to hurry the rest of your day.

4.  Don’t be too strict with timings

checklistBefore we mentioned that you should create timelines for the actual day. Although this is a fantastic way to relieve stress by ensuring that everything ruins smoothly you don not want to stick to it too precisely. You can’t always predict what’s going to happen so you will need an element of ‘going-with-the-flow’ in case timings change. Otherwise you will stress yourself out trying to stick with the timings you have set out.

5. Have alternatives

checklist

As we have said before you can never predict what is going to happen at a wedding and one of the main causes of this is the weather. Unless you are psychic there is no way that you will be able to predict the future so you should be prepared for both wet and hot weather options. Make sure that you have an abundance of umbrellas at the ready for if it rains, and if it’s sunny garden games are always a great way to keep guests entertained.

6. Breath, smile and enjoy yourself

checklist

The most important thing for you to remember on your wedding day is to have fun! You haven’t spent all this money to have a bad time. If anything doesn’t go to plan just try to relax and forget about it. The time will have past and there’s nothing you can do about it so don’t let it ruin your special day.
