5 Best & Most Beautiful TV Weddings

Weddings have a way of making even the most unromantic of people wipe away tears of joy and happiness. It’s that special combination of being surrounded by all the people you care for the most, celebrating love in all its glory, and, of course, a generous flow of delicious food and alcohol that makes every wedding an unforgettable experience. Add to that a beautiful environment and customized décor highlighting the lucky couples’ respective personalities, and within no time every single guest is high on the greatest drug of all: love.

If the next wedding you’ve been invited to is still a long way away, or, if you are in the process of planning your own special day, you can always turn to some of your favourite TV shows to give you a dose of the love-drug and/or sweet inspirations. Here is our pick of the top five most beautiful TV weddings!

5. Steve & Miranda, Sex and the City

Out of the four Cosmopolitan-slurping, Manolo Blahnik-wearing Sex and the City ladies, Miranda Hobbes has always been the most down to earth. She’s a no-bullshit kinda gal who hates all things kitsch and overly saccharine, so naturally, her and her partner Steve opted for a low-key affair in a lovely little community garden surrounded by just their closest friends and family. Their ceremony and after-party proves there’s really something about the concept of “quality over quantity.”

4. Crosby & Jasmine, Parenthood

Crosby and Jasmine may have had a rocky start to their relationship, but that only made them all the stronger together. When they finally find back to one another after a season-long hiatus, fans were overjoyed to see them tie the knot in the Braverman’s back garden in Berkeley. Watching Jasmine walk down the aisle to the sounds of a heart-warming, live gospel group singing Make You Feel My Love, it’s hard to contain your emotions – especially upon seeing the look of complete and utter devotion on Crosby’s face as he awaits his bride-to-be.

3. Kevin & Scotty, Brothers and Sisters

If ever there was a perfect couple, it’s Brothers and Sisters’ Scotty and Kevin. Their personalities truly complement each other and as the show progressed over the course of five years, their individual growth and all the hurdles they overcame as a couple, was truly touching to watch. Their wedding was celebrated in true Walker’s fashion, with Kevin’s sister Kitty officiating and sharing an embarrassing secret or two with the crowd. The ceremony was classy but simple, and went down in TV history as the first same-sex wedding between two main characters. It was about time – cheers to that!

2. Susan & Mike, Desperate Housewives

Susan waited a long time for Mike to come out of a coma after he was hit by a car. But when he finally awakes, he is diagnosed with retrograde amnesia and no longer recalls his deep feelings for her. Fortunately, love is not as fleeting as memories – it doesn’t take long for Mike to remember just how crazy he is about Susan. So, when she plans a secret, intimate wedding ceremony in the woods, he doesn’t need to think twice about saying, “I do.” The dimly lit lanterns hanging from the trees will light up your heart!

1. Luke & Lorelai, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

For seven long seasons we waited for “Luke ‘Table for one’ Danes and Lorelai ‘I’m sorry can I get an industrial forklift for my emotional baggage’ Gilmore” to get married, but it just never quite happened. When Netflix announced a revival to premiere in the fall of 2016, fans immediately took to the internet for wild speculations as to who Lorelai would finally end up with – and the show did not disappoint. In the final instalment of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Luke and Lorelai finally get married under the twinkling lights of Stars Hollow’s gazebo. We usually can’t trust quirky Kirk to pull off any major project planning, but he truly outdid himself by creating an Alice in Wonderland-esque environment for the town’s most beloved couple.
