Bride kidnapping, also known as marriage by abduction or marriage by capture, is a practice in which a man snatches the woman he wishes to spend his life with. In most parts of the world the ritual is considered a sex crime, but in cultures like Romani or gypsy it is still practiced. It is believed that if you manage to successfully capture a girl and keep her by your side for at least 2 days, then you are worthy of making them your wife.
Are civil partnerships permitted?Romania does not recognise same-sex unions, either in the form of same-sex marriage or civil unions. |
