Famous Royal Engagement Rings

It would seem that new mom and still fairly recent bride Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge has been a frequent headline maker lately, from speculations on what sparkling push presents she may have received, to the second life she gave to the Late Lady Diana’s stunning sapphire and diamond engagement ring.  This is why we thought it would be grand to showcase a few other noteworthy royal engagement rings that have made their way onto the fingers of past and current princesses.  So, here’s our list of some of the more stunning royal engagement rings we have seen over the years.

Princess Grace of Monaco

Princess GraceThere is no doubting the fact that Princess Grace never failed to live up to her name.  More commonly known as Hollywood starlet Grace Kelly, the lovely film star and fashion icon was also known for her marriage to Prince Ranier III of Monaco.  The Prince originally went down on one knee with an eternity style ring sparkling with dazzling diamonds and brilliant rubies, however, once he saw some of the bling being sported on the Hollywood scene he made sure his future princess would not be left wanting and graced Grace’s finger with a breathtaking Emerald Cut diamond weighing in at just over 10 carats flanked on either side by equally dazzling Baguette Cut shoulder stones

Princess Fergie

Princess Marie-Chantal

110810-royal-one-383While she may be one of the lesser-known princesses, her engagement ring truly made her worthy to make this list.  The stunning and unique diamond and sapphire engagement ring was given to Marie-Chantal Miller by her then future husband Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece was a showstopper.  Breaking from the traditional diamond engagement ring look in several aspects of its design, the stunning piece featured an eye-catching Cabochon Cut sapphire that had been in the Prince’s family for some time, alongside a charming Heart shaped diamond that the Prince had specially selected for the ring himself.  The beautiful sapphire and diamond engagement ring once again showed that royals from around the globe are just as enamoured with gemstones as they are with diamonds when it comes to their royal engagement rings.
