6 Things To Consider When Proposing

Planning a proposal can be a little bit stressful! We know that here at Purely Diamonds so we’ve put together a few things to consider when you are planning to pop the big question.

1. Make sure the location is epic!

When you propose, make sure that you do it in a meaningful and memorable location! One of the most popular places to propose in London is The Shard. Why wouldn’t it be? The view is epic!

Whether you want to propose abroad or at home, every city has it’s own unique landmark or venue that would make the perfect location for your proposal.

2. Make them feel like a Princess

It is every girls dream to be treated like a princess, and you can achieve this by organising the ultimate royal proposal at a Castle or a Stately home.

You can even go one step further and buy her a beautiful ball gown to fit in with the theme. Just think how great it will look in all the proposal photos.

3. Your proposal can also be fun!

Why not consider organising a treasure hunt for your proposal, which will be both romantic and fun?

What are your partner’s favourite things to do and the places they love to visit? It would be a lovely personal touch to include these in the proposal.

Is there anything they have ever wanted to try, for example, flying in a helicopter? If you have the budget this could be a brilliant ways of getting to one of the stops on the treasure hunt. Not to mention it is a great way of adding that extra excitement to your proposal!

3. Do something spectacular.

Our partners, The Proposers,  recently organised an open-mic night proposal for a couple who love poetry. The proposal involved 21 West End singers. 6 amazing acts, 1 very funny Irish compare, a poem from the Groom-to-be and 4 hysterical poems about cats.

The main event was the couples ‘song’, Aerosmith’s ‘I don’t want to miss a thing,’ which was sung, one by one, by the singers, until everyone in the room was singing at once.

4. Tailor the proposal to your partner

If your partner loves rainbow roses, make sure that they are present. If their favourite song is John Legend’s, ‘All of Me,’ ensure that it is playing in the background. Alternatively, you can print out pictures of your lives together and put them in pretty frames of your partner’s favourite colour.

They might not seem like anything to you, but it is the little touches which will make the proposal so much more special to your partner.

5. Propose abroad

Popping the question abroad is really romantic and would make a brilliant proposal story. The beauty of proposing abroad is that you’ll be nice and relaxed so it will take the pressure off. Don’t forget that you can also liaise with the hotel to help make the proposal extra special.

Just think how idyllic it will be to propose on the beach as the sun is setting in front of you.

6. Fulfil a dream.

Whether your partner loves caving, diving, skydiving, cooking, shopping, watching films or playing games you need to make sure that you fulfil that dream they’ve been wishing for since they were a child and propose in the way that they would love.
