#PurelyEngaged: Harriet & Dan’s Story
Every year our workshop sees thousands of engagement rings pass through and we are honoured to be part of your happily ever after. To see what happens after the ring has left us, we spoke to one of our #PurelyEngaged couples to find out.
Based in Bath, Harriet and Dan got engagement on a dinner cruise in Hawaii during a trip to America in September 2019. Here we ask the lovely couple a few questions to find more about the proposal and the all-important engagement ring!
The Interview
How long have you been together?
8 years this June.
Where did you meet?
We actually went to secondary school together but couldn’t stand one another. It was years later when we bumped in to each other on a night out that we actually spoke for the first time.
Dan, when did you start thinking about proposing and how did you do it?
I had been thinking about doing it for a couple years leading up to the proposal – waiting for the right time. We had planned a joint 30th birthday trip to Vegas, LA and Hawaii. So, I organised a dinner cruise in Hawaii and proposed to her in front of the sunset on the 13th September 2019.
Harriet, did you have any idea?
No, Dan had cleverly planned a decoy by telling me that my friends who were on the trip with us had planned a birthday surprise for us both, so I wasn’t expecting. I think if Dan had planned anything, I would have sussed because he doesn’t really do surprises!
Dan, how did you find out about PD and how was the buying process?
I found you online and you were really helpful in picking the perfect ring! The after service was great too as we needed it resized which you did free of charge.

Harriet, what did you think of the ring?
LOVED IT! It was identical to what I had wanted but had the added bonus of a small diamond underneath the main stone which was special.
And most importantly… Have you started plan the wedding?
Yes, we are getting married in Ibiza in July this year overlooking Es Vedrà and the ocean at 7Pines Resort. We are having a white Hawaiian theme wedding with just 30 of our loved ones.
