Once known as the pillow cut diamond because of its distinctive shape with curved softened corners, a cushion cut engagement ring can now be found in both square and rectangular forms.

The typical ratio of a cushion cut diamond is between 1.00 and 1.05 to give that equally distributed shape that is the same both length ways and width ways.
